The Emirate of Abu Dhabi is experiencing a cultural transformation with new museums uncovering its history and heritage. Al Dhafra Fort, located near Madinat Zayed in the desert, is dedicated to the Al Dhafra region. This museum, with its 11 rooms, tells the region’s untold story, highlighting its geological wealth, the connection between the land and its people, and Al Dhafra’s place in the modern world.
Avesta Group led all stages of the museum’s content development, including interpretive planning, collections and iconography strategy, writing of exhibition texts and scripts. In addition, a variety of activities spanning leisure, commercial, and educational domains were assessed to enhance the immersive experience for visitors and ensure the financial viability of the Fort.
