AlUla will be Saudi Arabia’s largest living museum, positioning the region as an art destination, while enhancing its precious landscape and cultural heritage. To achieve this goal, the Royal Commission for AlUla entrusted Avesta Group in crafting an interim Public Arts Strategy.
This encompassed proposing a public artwork for the Old Town Boutique Hotel, coordinating Mark Dion’s A Desert Field Guide, reviewing literature, consulting stakeholders, mapping optimal artwork locations, and unfolding curatorial narratives for previously acquired artworks.
The outcome is an interim plan aligning with RCU’s goals, expediting installations, establishing quality standards, and ensuring compliance, marking a step towards AlUla’s recognition as a worldwide art destination.
