Avesta Group contributed to the development of a major European park dedicated to volcanism, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Hans Hollein. Utilizing innovative techniques, three-quarters of the foundations were submerged underground, aiding in land rehabilitation. Visitors descend a ramp toward a cone-shaped structure clad in dark stone, symbolizing a metaphorical volcano, with gold metal lining the interior.
The park features research facilities, IMAX theaters, greenhouses showcasing the fertility effects of volcanism, and a restaurant offering panoramic views. Secluded yet ideal for recreation and hiking, Vulcania also offers attractions like the 4-D film “The Awakening of the Auvergne Giants.” Vulcania introduced new attractions, including Volcanbul, an eco-friendly GPS-guided robot providing tours of the area.
