Maison Hermès Shanghai

The Maison Hermes in Shanghai is the first in China and only the 5th in the world institution that presents and sells the Hermes brand and culture. Hermès already had 15 outlets in China, but a booming and exciting city like Shanghai had to host a Maison Hermès, now located in a restored 1928’s Art Deco building.

We took an essential part in the programming of the Maison Hermès. By approaching the Shanghai Maison as a perfect place for a house looking to sell not just its wares, but its past and its present, we developed a masterplan and the facility strategy and planning.

Outcomes

Masterplan for the project constituted of series of contiguous lounges sneaking over four floors containing tailor masterpieces, watchmakers, bag repairers, all exhibited as in an ethnographic museum
