Umm Al Quwain Museum is an archaeological museum delving into the history of the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain. Its narrative focuses on the exploration and presentation of various archaeological sites, alongside highlighting the Emirates’s present and upcoming projects. Avesta Group led the concept design for the archive center and the two exhibition galleries: the modular temporary exhibition and the archaeological permanent gallery. This encompassed providing general artistic direction based on the metaphorical correlation of an exhibition hall with an archaeological excavation site, structured in three layers: discoveries, milestones, and impressions. Additionally, it involved the layout of spaces, exhibition graphic design, recommendations on media and other interpretation, as well as lighting design.
Avesta Group also created the signage and wayfinding for the whole museum, defining the functions and design of the panels and then distributing them strategically throughout the space to ensure a high-quality visitor experience.
