A François Pinault Foundation endeavour, the project transformed the city’s former customs house into a centre for contemporary art. This architectural masterpiece now houses a permanent exhibition drawn from the François Pinault Collection, tracing the building’s evolution from commercial hub to global contemporary art venue. The Foundation holds a 33-year agreement with the City of Venice.
Renovated by Tadao Ando, the Punta della Dogana, located at the confluence of the Grand Canal and Giudecca Canal, stands as a prominent symbol of this transformation. Avesta Group played a crucial role in completing space planning and actively participating in design reviews throughout the architectural development process.
