The Musée du Président Jacques Chirac in Sarran, at the foot of the Corrèze massif des Monédières, is dedicated to the collection of gifts presented to Jacques Chirac during his two terms as President of France (1995–2007). Through some two hundred objects on permanent exhibition, the museum fulfils a singular vocation: to offer a living picture of the world as it was during his presidency, with each gift serving as a physical and symbolic trace of the international meetings and events that marked his time in office. The resolutely modernist building, with its clear outlines, was designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte, one of the masters of contemporary architecture.
Avesta Group brought its expertise to the creation of this museum on a turnkey design-build basis, contributing to the development of an institution that transforms a personal diplomatic collection into a meaningful public cultural experience.
