NATIONAL LIBRARY OF FRANCE

Avesta Group contributed to the inaugural exhibition at the emblematic building of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BnF). The BnF, known as the French National Library since 1994, operates under the Ministry of Culture and Communication, tasked with collecting, preserving, enriching, and providing access to the national documentary heritage.

Its collections, amassed since the Middle Ages, encompass 14 million books, manuscripts, prints, photographs, and more, covering all fields of knowledge. President François Mitterrand announced the library’s construction on July 14, 1988, envisioning it as one of the largest and most modern libraries globally, employing cutting-edge technologies for remote consultation and collaboration with European counterparts.
