Inspired by and organised around the iconic Sangi-Mugan lighthouse, a symbol of engineering excellence and historical significance for Azerbaijan, the Baku Lighthouse Museum offers a comprehensive exploration of the lighthouses dotting the Caspian Sea while highlighting the significant role of the Port of Baku in the development of lighthouse services in Azerbaijan.
Designed in 1891, the Sangi-Mugan lighthouse illuminated the dangerous area near Svinoy Island. Now decommissioned, the lighthouse has become the focal point of this new museum.
Avesta Group worked on developing the architectural concept, landscape design, and the artistic and digital design for the permanent exhibition.
