As Jeddah undergoes new developments, it seeks to update the signage of its historic district, Al-Balad, through a project led by Avesta Group in partnership with TAA (Taria Alireza Consulting Engineers). This initiative is focused on designing a strategic, bilingual wayfinding system that honours the cultural and architectural heritage of the area.
The project entails a detailed analysis of Al-Balad’s urban landscape, guiding a flexible design strategy that balances heritage with modern needs and elegantly highlights diverse areas, including the UNESCO-protected historic city. By emphasising accessibility, readability, and contextual relevance, Avesta Group aims to enhance the visitor experience, foster a unified urban identity, and support Al-Balad’s rich cultural narrative for the future.
