KREMLIN MUSEUM

Located within the highly confidential compound of the Kremlin, symbol of Russian statehood, the Moscow Kremlin Museum forms a vast complex of 70,000 sqm in the heart of the capital. Together with the Red Square, the architectural ensemble was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1990. The museum encompasses three sumptuous cathedrals on Cathedral Square – the Assumption, the Archangel and the Annunciation -alongside a world-renowned Armoury Chamber. Its collections bear witness to the development and empowerment of the Russian nation from the 12th and 13th centuries onwards, displaying emblems and insignia of royalty, ornaments and costumes from official ceremonies, arms and armour, and manuscripts of exceptional historical value.

Avesta Group was engaged to support an ongoing renovation aimed at rethinking the internal and external organisation of the complex while respecting its integrity. Avesta Group provided services across concept development, strategic and facility planning, exhibition planning, cultural programming, and collections analysis, working to shape the future of one of the world’s most significant historical institutions.
