BREUS ART CENTRE

In Tbilisi, Georgia, a former hospital is being transformed into the Breus Art Centre, a contemporary art hub, situated on a 20,570 sq.m plot with 7,570 sq.m of existing buildings (12 structures, with 4 to be preserved) and a 13,000 sq.m park. Housing a diverse collection of over a thousand artworks, the center aims to unite artists and art from Eastern Europe, Transcaucasia, and Central Asia.

Avesta Group prepared and orchestrated the three stages of the architectural competition, featuring 14 leading international firms, including Pritzker Prize winners. After four months of sustained effort, Archea Studio were declared winners of the competition. The project remains in progress, with Avesta Group reviewing the designs submissions at all stages.
