GES-2 HOUSE OF CULTURE

The ambitious project by V-A-C Foundation converts a 20th-century power station and former vodka warehouse near the Kremlin into a one-of-a-kind cultural institution, with Renzo Piano Building Workshop having led the charge on the architecture and design. With its 20,000 sqm of open-space gallery, GES-2 hosts a wide variety of visual and performing disciplines: choreography, music, theatre, cinema, design, and visual arts are all welcome and encouraged.

Over three years, Avesta Group embarked on a journey to reinvent the conventional Russian “House of Culture,” taking charge of its realisation, notably leading the discussions with the architect, and actively engaging in every phase of design development while also playing a vital role in developing in-house capacity for future operations.
